If you have debt, regardless of the amount, paying it off can seem daunting. There are simple ways to pay it off over time that don’t involve a lot of unnecessary stress.
Create or analyze your budget
If you haven’t already, create a budget. Then take a good look at where you’re spending money. Cut back any and all unnecessary costs. If you keep spending, you’ll be digging yourself further into a hole.
Pay more than the minimum
To really tackle your debt, you need to pay more than the minimum amount. Make weekly instead of monthly payments, or increase your payment by double or even more if you can.
Delete credit card info
You may have your credit card information stored so that the info is automatically added at checkout. Delete this so you don’t buy items you don’t need.
Sell unwanted or unused items
Go through your closet and home, and look for items you can sell at consignment stores, on eBay or Craigslist. Do some research so you’ll be listing items at a reasonable price. Put any profits from sales toward your debt.
