As we get closer to spring, some of us may be cleaning out our houses or thinking of home décor. But buying brand new furniture or home decorations can be costly.
There are lots of ways to spruce up your home on a budget. Read on more home décor tips that will keep your wallet full!
Paint an accent wall
Painting is an easy way to spruce up any room. You can save time, resources and money by choosing to forgo painting all four walls. Rather than painting an entire room though, save one wall for a splash of color. To save even more money look for a paint brand that offers one-coat coverage so you won’t need to buy primer as well.
Declutter
Nobody really likes a messy space. But beyond just getting rid of general clutter, look for storage bins and other organizers to hold your miscellaneous, extra stuff. Bonus decorating points if it matches the rest of the room’s aesthetic. This also gives you a good opportunity to get rid of anything you no longer use or should get rid of.
Do it yourself
We’ve made several cases for D.I.Y., from gifts to storage and everything in between. Don’t worry if you don’t possess some serious workshop or crafting skills though! There are plenty of home décor and furniture projects even the least skilled D.I.Y.-er can master. From light fixtures to tables to planters, there’s a project for everyone.
Shop sale savvy
Many online retailers let you create sale alerts that do just that- alert you when a sale is happening. And Goodshop home décor will always have the latest sales and deals for furniture and home décor!
If you’re looking for furniture and don’t mind something secondhand, check Craigslist or your local thrift store. With some digging and patience, you’ll be surprised at what gems you can find. Keep an eye out at neighborhood garage sales and let your friends know what you’re looking for too!
Personal touch
Your home should be just that- a home. Regardless of what’s trendy or in fashion at the moment, make sure you’re surrounded by whatever makes you happy. Pictures always add a personal touch but if you don’t have a lot in your budget for frames, stick Polaroids on your wall. They’ll add a cool, retro touch while reminding you of great memories.
