Hobby Lobby Saving Tips

Hobby Lobby is a craft and décor store that offers big deals every week and many excellent ways to save. With over 70,000 products and 900 stores, and a fully stocked online website, hobbyists and décor enthusiasts have many ways to save.

Hobby Lobby is the perfect place for your next project or for picking up a new hobby. It has a gift that suits everyone and big discounts to help you get the best deal every time you shop.

We know that saving as much as you can is important. To help you get the most out of your next Hobby Lobby haul, we have put together some of the top saving tips:

1.    Create an online account

Create an online account or download the Hobby Lobby app to start a wish list. This way, you can keep track of the items you want and see just when they go on sale.

2.    Sign up for the newsletter and weekly ad

The best way to stay on top of deals is to subscribe to their newsletter and weekly ads. You can shop weekly ad deals directly online with ease. Also, find the weekly ad in-store, so you know just what is available without having to hunt through the whole store.

3.    Check here for coupons and promo codes

Always check here for coupons or promo codes to help you save on your purchase. You may find a discount code for a specific product you want or free shipping promo codes.

4.    Ask customer service for a rain check on out of stock sale items

You can ask for a rain check if a product line is on sale, but the product you want specifically is out of stock. This means that you can get the sale price when the item comes back in stock, even if the sale isn’t on at the time. Not all products can be rain-checked. Hobby Lobby cannot rain check clearance items. Also, they cannot run a rain check on discontinued items.

5.    Use the price adjustment on purchases up to 14 days after purchase

You can get money back if you buy an item at full price and, within 14 days from purchase, that item goes on sale. To get this discount, you need to bring both the receipt and the item back into the store even if you have already started using the product. You will get the price difference back.

6.    Part of an organization? How to get an additional 10% off

If you are part of a charity organization, school, or church, take an additional 10% off. To do this, bring an unsigned check from a qualifying organization. The manager will need to approve the transaction for you to use a check. If your organization has a credit card, this is another way to pay and get a great discount.

The discount is only available in-store. You cannot get this discount online.

7.    Are you an employee? Get the 15% employee discount

If you are an artist who sells crafts or art for a living, consider getting a part-time job at Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby employees take an additional 15% off their total order, including sale items.

8.    Get 10% off if an item is damaged

You can get a discount if the item you want to buy is damaged. The damage has to be significant enough, and you will need the manager to approve the discount to get it. This can be ideal if you plan on working the item in question into a new project and don’t need it to be in pristine condition.

9.    Don’t buy furniture unless Hobby Lobby discounts it by more than 30%

Furniture is often 30% off at Hobby Lobby, which means that 30% off price is its regular sales price in many ways. If you are looking for a deal, you are better off waiting for Hobby Lobby to offer bigger discounts on furniture.

10. Price match Michaels or JOANN

Hobby Lobby will match regular retail prices for items offered for less at Michaels or JOANN. To match the price, you will need to have proof of the listing. Also, the item must be exactly the same. You cannot get Hobby Lobby to price match a sale price, just regular retail price.

11. Check the clearance section often

Clearance sections are specially marked discounts. They are surplus, last-season, and discontinued items. Once they are gone, they are gone, and you cannot rain check these items. Always check the clearance section when you shop to get the best deals. There is even a clearance section online to shop discounts at your convenience.

12. Know when the sales are on

Knowing when the sales are is a great way to plan ahead.

  • Hobby Lobby furniture, books, wearable art, and custom frames are always on sale.
  • Crafts, jewelry, and jewelry-making products go on sale once every three weeks.
  • Décor goes on sale every other week.

Find 40% to 80% off products throughout the year. Sign up for weekly ads and stay updated with the latest sales to get the best deals.

13. Shop Saturdays when sales overlap

If you are economical with your time, you can try shopping on Saturdays. This is when sales begin and sales end, so you can often get the full list of sale items by shopping Saturday instead of any other day of the week.
