Macy’s “Believe” campaign is giving everyone a reason to believe in Santa this holiday season. The charitable campaign, in its eighth year, will benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation, an organization committed to helping kids with terminal sicknesses to live out their fantasies, whether they are to sing and dance on Broadway or take the field with professional athletes. Over the past seven years Macy’s has raised 10.8 million for Make-A-Wish through this unique initiative that encourages children to believe in Santa Claus, and ultimately in themselves.
Macy’s invites kids all over the country to drop off a letter to Santa in the red mailboxes located at their local stores, and for technologically-savvy Chris Cringle fans to email letters via macys.com/believe. For every letter, Macy’s will donate a dollar (up to $1 million) to Make-A-Wish through Christmas Eve. David Williams, CEO of Make-A-Wish, says that “Embracing their imagination is what allows our wish kids to think big; to think about the future as they fight their illness,” and believes the campaign “captures that sentiment perfectly.”
So encourage the kids in your life to drop Old Saint Nick a note. Macy’s is out to show them just how powerful their imaginations can be with their newest addition to the “Believe” campaign– the Wish Writer Stylus and app. The stylus and app allow kids to decorate and further personalize their letters, and play holiday-themed games. One dollar from this $14.99 purchase will go to Make-A-Wish. Get Good shopping!
